Hi! My name is Mariam. I’m a calligrapher from Sydney.

Welcome to Salam Studio.

Salam Studio began with grief, grew with love, and lives with intention.

A year after my father passed away, I sought something gentle enough to heal me and steady enough to hold me.
Calligraphy became that refuge with each stroke a breath, each curve a moment of calm amongst the chaos around me.

I named my studio Salam (peace, in Arabic) but also after my mother, whose name carries the same word.
She is the heart behind my strength, and this studio is a quiet tribute to both of my parents:
one I lost and one who carried me through.

As a Muslim, my faith is woven into the foundations of my work, guiding the way I create, the way I serve, and the values I uphold. It shapes my approach to beauty, intention, and respect, and it grounds Salam Studio in a sense of purpose far deeper than the art alone.

My work is shaped by a commitment to respect, integrity, and values-led craftsmanship. Every piece I create is approached with sincerity, intention, and a deep appreciation for the moments it represents. To honour this standard, I accept projects that align with my ethical and faith-based principles. This means that some themes or products may fall outside the services I offer. I warmly appreciate your understanding and look forward to creating pieces that feel both timeless and meaningful.

I create bespoke calligraphy for every occasion, offering personalised pieces, digital calligraphy, and luxurious hot-foiling. I also offer in-studio personalisation, transforming names, words, and moments into bespoke pieces of art that leave a lasting impression.
